This piece takes its title from the Japanese word hidamari — a warm, sunny spot. The flowers, trees and shapes are all rounded, soft-looking and gentle, wrapped in warm, bright colors. The gentle world bathed in the light of a big sun seems to warm the heart of anyone who sees it. Perhaps such a sunny spot is the gentle, peaceful time spent with family, friends and the people you love. And each of the countless flowers may be a little grain of happiness, past and yet to come.
