A Hint of New Beginnings
The sea sways gently, the wind sparkles, fresh and clear, the flowers offer a gentle fragrance. Surely spring will come tomorrow — the beginning of better days. [Words in the painting] Better days are coming…

A few words from Kellie
It's based on the colorful townscapes and majestic nature of Scandinavia around the time winter turns to spring. I wanted to capture a calm scene like the one in a haiku by the 18th-century Japanese poet Yosa Buson: “The spring sea — / all day long, gently / rising and falling.” Fresh winds blow, snowdrops and crocuses begin to bloom, and the days, calm as they are, keep moving slowly and steadily toward the future we call tomorrow. I painted it with the anticipation that something good is about to begin with the arrival of spring, a season of hope.
